TAX SITTING

Berkheimer Associates expects to mail the Local Earned Income Tax (EIT) Returns sometime in January. If you do not receive one, please call Berkheimer at 610-599-3139, or stop by Borough Hall to pick up a return. Tax Sitting Day is scheduled for April 7, 2008 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. A representative from Berkheimer will be available at Borough Hall, 941 Long Street, to answer any questions about your local EIT return. Please check with your employer to make sure that your 1% withholding is sent to Fountain Hill (Berkheimer) rather than the City of Bethlehem. Employers often use the zip code to determine where to send the money. Fountain Hill Zip Code is a Bethlehem zip code (18015). Make sure that your employer knows that you live in Fountain Hill, and not the City of Bethlehem. Keep your taxes in our Borough.

NEW EMERGENCY MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAX (EMST)

The revenue derived from the tax will be used for police, fire and emergency services and for road improvement and maintenance.
