Mayor
Mr. Ned Fink has recently been appointed as the Mayor of Fountain Hill. The Office of the Mayor is an elected position. The term of Office is four years. The duties of the Mayor are established by Article X of the Borough Code, Section 1021. The primary responsibility of the Mayor is overseeing the day-to-day operations of the police department. The Mayor also acts as honorary spokesperson, along with the Council President, on all major celebrations in the Borough. In cases involving the protection of public safety, the Mayor can also issue an emergency proclamation. The most common is a snow emergency. The Mayor also has the power to administer oaths in matters pertaining to Borough affairs. One function that most times goes unnoticed is the power to marry individuals.
