Fountain Hill Response to Coronavirus

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and Governor Wolf's recent declaration of an emergency, the Fountain Hill Borough Administrative office will be CLOSED to the public for two weeks, effective immediately, through March 27, 2020.

Police - First Monday starting at 5:45 p.m.
Finance, Public Works, Personnel, House & Ordinance - First Wednesday of each month starting at 5:30 p.m.
Fire, Health & Sanitation, Recreation - Third Wednesday of each month starting at 5:30 p.m.
In keeping with Governor Wolf 's recent declaration of emergency regarding Coronvirus, State Representative Jeanne McNeil's satellite office hours (located inside Fountain Hill Borough Hall ) every Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will be cancelled until further notice. PUBLIC NOTICE: To all Rental Property owners
Borough of Fountain Hill has adopted Ordinance # 637 1/3/2000 and as amended by Ordinance # 843 10/01/2018, requiring a rental license must be obtained for each separate rental unit. The cost of $50.00 per rental license, per year, not to be confused with the $50.00 “Lehigh County Mercantile License Tax Return”.
A $75.00 inspection fee per unit is also required every other year starting with 2020, to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code. The appropriate registration forms can be found at the top section under Permits/Permit applications titled Rental Unit Registrations.
Definition of a Rental Unit:
REGULATED RENTAL UNIT a dwelling unit that is occupied for residential purposes in consideration for the payment of rent as defined herein and is not an owner-occupied dwelling unit
UNREGULATED RENTAL UNIT a dwelling unit, which is occupied for residential purposes by a person related in blood or marriage to the owner of the unit and which unit is not also occupied by the owner.
Per Fountain Hill Borough Code, Part 4 Residential Rental Properties,
[Ord.637, 1/3/2000 as amended by Ord. 843, 10/1/2018] section 402, Duties of Owner, item # C
The owner shall obtain a rental license for every REGULATED RENTAL UNIT and UNREGULATED RENTAL UNIT in accordance with this Part. If a rental license is not secured by the owner within the time establish by this Part, or if the rental license is suspended or revoked, then, except as otherwise provided herein, neither the regulated unit or the unregulated unit shall be rented for residential use.
