Fountain Hill Response to Coronavirus
Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and Governor Wolf's recent declaration of an emergency, the Fountain Hill Borough Administrative office will be CLOSED to the public for two weeks, effective immediately, through March 27, 2020.

In keeping with Governor Wolf 's recent declaration of emergency regarding Coronvirus, State Representative Jeanne McNeil's satellite office hours (located inside Fountain Hill Borough Hall ) every Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will be cancelled until further notice. Bethlehem Public Library – hiring for Fountain Hill Satellite Bookmobile
The Bethlehem Area Public Library has an opening for a part-time Technician at our new Satellite Bookmobile, located in Fountain Hill. This is a stationary location and does not require driving the Bookmobile. The position is 16 hours per week and pay is $17.37 per hour. PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal, and FBI Fingerprint clearances are required. Working some nights and Saturdays is required. Full job description is below. Title: Satellite Technician
Supervisor: Head of Outreach
A two or four-year college degree in applicable subject area is preferred. Or, at least one year of library experience with a combination of education and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, clerical, and technological skills
Ability to think and work independently, take initiative, and troubleshoot problems remotely
Must possess excellent customer service skills, which includes the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with patience, friendliness, and courteousness; a desire to help others and reach out into the community
Ability to meet physical and environmental demands of the position – sitting for long periods of time, lifting and moving materials while loading and unloading, physical mobility to reach all shelving, brief exposure to outside weather conditions
This position at the new Satellite Bookmobile location in Fountain Hill is a combination of circulation, information, and outreach services to the community. The ideal candidate will serve as an exemplary representative of the library to creatively and effectively promote the library’s mission and services.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform opening and closing procedures on the FH Bookmobile
Greet and assist library users employing effective customer service skills
Perform general circulation routines as appropriate: check-in, check-out, and renewal of materials, processing applications for and issuing new library cards, processing materials, including collection of fines/fees
Assist patrons in locating library materials, including reader’s advisory, interlibrary loan, and new material requests
Assist patrons with questions, provide assistance or instruction utilizing the library’s ILS, website, databases, or other technology as required
Deal with patron complaints and problems patiently and decisively
Respect the confidentiality of library users and records
Recognize and address the diverse nature of the library’s patrons and community
Participate in the overall neatness and interior appearance of the bookmobile by accurately shelving materials, performing light household tasks, and maintaining attractive and timely information displays
Load and offload materials to and from the main library in a timely manner for proper transfer
