Public Works


The Department of Public Works is responsible for the improvements and repairs of the Borough 23 miles of roads. Its responsibilities are complex and diverse. The Department has 5 full time employees (Laborers), in addition to a Full Time Supervisor. Other functions of the department is removal of snow, leaf collection, maintaining the parks and ballfields, playground, swimming pool, maintenance of borough buildings and grounds, sanitary sewer and storm sewer lines, pumping station, traffic signs and traffic signals, banners and other community tasks.

Stanley Avenue Storm Sewer Rehabilitation Project

The Borough has received $86,000 from the Lehigh County Community Development Block Grant program and $95,000 from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development for the rehabilitation of the storm drain line on Stanley Avenue (from Cedar Street to N. Lynn Street) and N. Lynn Street (from Stanley Ave. to Delaware Ave.). This represents the 3rd phase on an ongoing storm sewer rehabilitation program in the Borough.
