A Message From Your New Mayor
Thank you so much for electing me your mayor. I am humbled and excited about leading our borough forward.
Fountain Hill has been a part of me for so long! I live with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in the house in which I was raised. I am proud to call myself one of the “Gifford Girls” from the hill. When I look out to the borough from my house on Moravia Street I see a beautiful place full of love and promise.
We are so fortunate to have an excellent police force under the leadership of Chief Edward Bachert. Their professional, caring attitude will make my job as mayor a lot easier. Being responsible for our Police Department is my most important duty as mayor.
Fountain Hill is home to many businesses! I would like to start a Fountain Hill business alliance – a place to share ideas and strategies to make our borough a business friendly place.
In these days of cold bitter temperatures it can be challenging to think about outdoor art but with the help of Ellen and Tom Flynn at The Art Establishment, I would like to begin an arts advisory council for our borough.
Speaking of making things beautiful, we will continue to have our monthly borough cleanups. This month, we’re passing. Even I am not crazy enough to try and pick up trash in 2 degree weather! Please consider joining us when we resume our efforts. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors and do the place you live a big favor!
We have so many resources right within the borders of Fountain Hill. It is my hope to help get people together and create community! Churches, clubs, organizations can all contribute to our awesome borough!
Thank you again for electing me. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!
